¹⁵ After that they seized her and brought her to the entrance of the Horse Gate of the palace, and there they put her to death.

¹⁶ After that, Jehoiada made a covenant between himself and all the people and the king that they should be the Lord’s people. ¹⁷ Then all the people went to the temple of Baal and demolished it. They smashed its altars and its images, and they killed Mattan, the priest of Baal, in front of the altars.
